Mercedes Schlapp, the White House strategy director for communications has a tough task. She's faced with the president, who acts as his own communications director, multiple legal battles which can disrupt the administration's messaging strategy and Cabinet secretaries caught up in their own disputes. Schlapp has remained in the right frame of mind and stay on top of her game, working with White House teams in political issues and legislative affairs, as well the larger communication team.
